1887 was the start of major newspapers coming to Colchester. Since then, four major newspapers were published within Colchester. Click here to read headlines of the past.
In the 1800's Colchester had two banks. The Colchester Bank was short lived and lasted between 1856 and 1857. The Colchester Savings Bank started in 1874 and lasted until the early 1900's. Click here to read their stories.
