Our Mission:

The class of 2008 is the 205th graduating class from Bacon Academy.  The night of graduation will be a proud moment for the graduates, their families and friends.

We understand that children are at high risk of using drugs and alcohol at graduation night.  As in the past, the parents of the graduates are planning an alcohol and drug free party.  About 240 young men and women will be the honored guests at this celebration.  In addition to the party, we raise money, goods and donated services for the senior BBQ and reception for family and friends following graduation ceremonies.  All seniors will have the chance to participate in these wonderful festivities.

What we need:

Senior parents volunteers to help raise money and staff fund raising events.  It will take about $23,000 for the party site rental, food, transportation and entertainments for our children.  This year we are trying to cut down the scope of the Budget in response to parent feedback.

How do we raise money:

FUNDRAISING:

  • We request a minimum contribution of $25.00 from each family to help with the cost.  If this is a financial burden, you can help in other ways.

  • Some companies, including Aetna and Pfizer, offer to match your contribution. So please check with your employer to see if you can take advantage of their offer.

  • A major fundraiser is running a concession stand and kiosk at the UCONN football/basketball games (both men and women) at Gampel Pavilion.  This is our major fund raiser and we need 10-14 people per game.  It only takes a few hours per game.

  • We know that everyone’s time is spread thin, but we need all the help we can get – small or large amounts of time are appreciated. Please complete the attached form and return it with your contribution check to the address above.
