Progress waits for no one. Even the greatest mountain disappears over time.

Yet, a memory will never die. This page is devoted to interesting Colchester people, places and things that are gone but not forgotten.

In 1824, Colchester citizen's created two forms of government within it borders.  This dual form of government lasted for 167 years!  The Borough of Colchester is remembered.

Hayward Pond arguably was the largest body of water in the Borough of Colchester for many years.
