Colchester has many sources for the published history of Colchester. There are, however, many many stories of about our past that are left untold. In particular, there is a lot of oral history that needs to be published. We want to know the oldest. There are families, trees, buildings and more that still stand strong after two centuries. We want to record interesting events never to happen again. What led to the demise of the Borough form of government? We want to recognize those people and things of distinction and notice. In particular, we wish to start a Colchester Hall of Fame. There are those that served Colchester well for many, many years that should have their stories told.
