1960-1976

The Colchester Citizen merged with the East Hampton News July 14, 1960.  It was still owned by Curtis Johnson Publishing, Inc.  They moved their offices, however, to Deep River.

At that time, Harriet Bron was the Colchester Editor.

August 18, 1960 -  New Board faces first big chore ; Colchester's newly created Board of Finance

September 1, 1960 - New Synagogue and Community Center Dedicated

September 8 1960 -  Colchester Legislative Candidates ; Rubin Cohen- "hamburg king", Stephen Fedus - restaurateur, Arthur Standish - dairy farmer, Edward Connell - builder

September 15, 1960 - Social Planned to Welcome Rabbi Kaplan

October 1960 -  20 People Spend $596,000
