Colchester has an agricultural history dating back to the late 1600's.  With each passing year, we are losing more and more farms.  We want to keep record of our farms to keep in touch with our rural past.

The present:

So far the best source to keep track of working farms are PA 490 records that lists locations granted a farmland designation by the Colchester's Assessor. Colchester has approximately 3,650 acres of farmland.

There are approximately 20 farms totaling 70 acres of more.

We are compiling a list of all active working farms in Colchester.  We are also looking for the longest running active farm in Colchester.
