Westchester is located along SR 149.

The exact boundaries of Westchester depends upon several definitions.  We greatly appreciate this information submitted by Nicholas Norton.  His family is arguably the oldest family continuously living in Colchester and Westchester.

There are two definitions of Westchester. The foremost
is the Congregational Church's Second Society, formed
in 1725.

The second definition is the Westchester Center and
North Westchester school districts which were part of
the school district organization of Colchester.

While Standish Road is part of the Second church
society, its children attended school on Bulkeley Hill
Road.

The rest of Westchester Center children attended a one
room school building which is still standing opposite
the Westchester Congregational Church. That district
extended south along Westchester Road up to the
Savitsky farm. (circa 1799 )

The two room North Westchester school was on River
Road, adjacent to and east of 18 River Road. Children
went to that school from the Savitsky farm south,
Shailor Hill Road, Cato Corner Road as far east as
Prospect Hill Road, River Road, Bull Hill Road. and
Old Hartford Road as far east as the Jeremy River
crossing.

Westchester circa 1880

As stated, Westchester was defined around it's school districts.  At one time it was divided into five districts; northwest, northeast, cintre, southwest, southeast.  This area went a little east of Cato Corner and Standish Road.  It also went as far north as Old Hartford Road.
